The three intrepid riders from left to right, Stanley Paris, Skylohr Taylor and Hilmir Augustsson start the 3,000 miles in 30 day bicycle across America for the PT Research. Day one was only 52 miles but required a 4,100 feet ascent! “Some of the grades were up to 9% and on anything over 7% I dismounted and walked – about two miles in all.” We were joined by a half dozen riders for the day including Dennis Spillaine past treasurer of the APTA

Today we descend to below sea level – that’s California for you.
